Towards innovative land management strategies and policy measures for reducing trade-offs between food supply, biodiversity and ecosystem services at a landscape scale
How to address trade-offs between food production, biodiversity and ecosystem services at the landscape scale? Call for practitioners and policy makers to join the discussion in Berlin on 12 March!
This 1-day workshop focusses on the question how trade-offs between food production, biodiversity and ecosystem services could be effectively managed at a landscape scale. We aim to gain an improved understanding on the role of trade-off assessments within a regional policy and planning setting as well as on innovative policy instruments that could support the reduction of trade-offs within a European context.
As a starting point of the discussion between scientists, policy makers from regional/national governmental levels and practitioners from different backgrounds (e.g. NGO representatives, local stakeholders), we use key insights from the European research project TALE.
